한글 타이포그래피, 시, Hangeul Typography, poetry
본 논문은 한글 타이포그래피를 이용하여 시를 시각화하는 표현방법들에 대한 연구이다. 기존의 알파벳으로 표현된 타이포그래피에 반해 한글 타이포그래피의 연구가 아직까지 다양하게 연구되지 못하고 있음을 깨닫고, 문학의 장르인 시와 한글 타이포그래피의 결합을 통해 매체장르의 혼합을 시도한다고 할 수 있다.\r\n디지털 시대에 있어서 시각성은 더욱 부각되고 있다. 또한 다양한 미디어 매체를 통해 텍스트는 하나의 시각적 기호로 우리에게 친숙하게 다가오고 있다. 텍스트와 이미지 관계에서 본 시와 타이포그래피를 통해 20세기 알파벳 실험시(말라르메, 아폴리네르, 미래주의, 다다이즘)의 표현 형식을 살펴본다. 또한 구체시를 통한 시의 시각화 가능성을 살펴보고, 구체시로 표현된 실험 타이포그래피의 특징을 통해, 다양한 표현 방법을 알 수 있었다.\r\n한글이 지니는 특성 1)조형성 2)시적 표현의 다양성 3)상형적 흔적 등을 통해 한글이 알파벳 타이포그래피에 비해 더욱 다양한 방식으로 표현될 수 있음을 알고, 타이포그래피 관점에서 본 현대 한글실험시의 사례들을 통해서 1)애매모호함의 개방성 2)회화성과 언어유희 3)매체의 자유성 4)한글 조형성의 분절이라는 표현방법을 유추해 볼 수 있었다.\r\n이 논문의 목적은 한글 타이포그래피의 연구에 있어서 폰트디자인과 같은 외형적 연구가 아니라, 시를 활용하여 문학적 장르와의 결합을 통해 다양한 미디어 속에서도 새로운 형태의 '영상시', '시각시', '보는시' 를 제시하고자 함에 있다. 이를 통해 한글 타이포그래피의 시각적 언어작업이 문학적 장르와의 혼합을 통해 더욱 다양하게 연구되고, 발전되어 나갈 수 있기를 기대해본다.
This Thesis is to study expression methods to visualize the poem by using Hangeul typography. Once I realized that studies on Hangeul typography had not yet done variously compared with the existing typography expressed in alphabet, I attempted to mix the media genres through combination of poetry of literary genre and Hangeul typography.\r\n\r\nIn the digital era, visual feature was magnified. In addition, texts are familiar to us as one of visual symbols through a variety of media. The expression format of the 20th century alphabet experimental poets (Mallarme, Apollinaire, Futurism, Dadaism) was examined through poets and typography according to the relation between text and image. In addition, the possibilities of visualization of poets through concrete poetry were examined and various ways of expression were found through characteristics of experimental typography as expressed in concrete poetry.\r\n\r\nIt's shown that Hangeul could be expressed in more various ways than alphabet typography through characteristics of Hangeul 1)formativeness 2)variety in expression in poetry 3)freedom of media 4)segment of Hangeul formativeness can be inferred through cases of contemporary Hangeul experimental poetry in typography perspective. The purpose of this paper is not an exterior study such as font design but to present the new style of 'video poetry', 'visual poetry', and 'looking poetry' in various media through combination of literary genre by using the poetry.\r\n\r\nI hope the visual language work of Hangeul typography will be studied variously and developed through the combination with literary genre.
