본 연구는 CSR(Corporate Social Responsibility, 기업의 사회적 책임)활동에서 과도한 적합성의 부정적 효과를 밝히기 위한 것이다.

A study on the negative effect of excessive fit of CSR activities.\r\n-the types of fit, authenticity, and prior corporate attitude-\r\n\r\nThe purpose of this paper is to examine the negative effect of excessive fit in CSR activities. Previous research on CSR fit agreed that the higher fit the corporate has, the more positive results it brings in general, but recent studies show otherwise. Presupposing that CSR fit was studied only fragmentarily, this study insists that CSR fit exceeding the limit might also bring a reverse effect and the effect might be affected depending on four types of the fitness: functional fit, image fit, target fit, scale fit. In addition, following the previous research that the effect of fit can be affected by two types of authenticity: motive authenticity, that is used to find out whether the motivation of the corporate is for business profit or for social profit; and non-deceptive authenticity, used to figure out whether CSR activity deceives the public or whether companies disclose their identity candidly. In this progress, prior attitude toward the corporate is also detected. \r\n\r\nFollowing result of this study, the change of attitude toward the corporate shows the reverse effect of excessive fit in every type of fit, except the scale fit. In other words, in the beginning, the higher fit the corporate has, the better attitude people have toward the company, but this attitude changes negatively when the fit becomes excessive. At this time, people recognize authenticity differently by the types of fits. Only image fit influences the motive authenticity and non-deceptive authenticity in an inverted U curve. Meanwhile, the change of attitude toward the corporate in the types of authenticity is not different from each other; in both these two types, people have a positive attitude when they perceive authenticity highly. Lastly, this research, which examines each prior corporate attitude in the types of fit influence change of people’s attitude toward the corporate, shows when the negative prior attitude of the corporate brings the reverse effect of excessive fit of image fit; except for this, people’s corporate attitude changes positively, when the fit gets higher in all types. \r\n\r\nTherefore, this study has several implications that provide a new tool of discussion for CSR research. At first, the viewpoint of CSR research is widened by empirically determining the negative effect of excessive fit on CSR activities that preceding research could only speculate but not prove. Second, the types of fit are classified and each of them has different results. Third, the explanation power of the reverse effect of CSR fit improves through organizing the concept of ‘authenticity’ and ‘prior corporate attitude.’ Fourth, in light of the recent problem that there is a confusion with the concept of authenticity, it is the first attempt to investigate CSR research with two concepts of authenticity that are identified and categorized. Finally, as most corporates are eager to occupy their own position in the CSR field, this study has a business approach to plan actual CSR strategies.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nKey words :\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nCorporate Social Responsibility, excessive
