The purpose of this thesis is to examine the experiences of cultural consumers who have an aesthetic experience in the cultural complex called ‘VINYL AND PLASTIC’. In particular, the connection between Pierre Bourdieu's Habitus theory, cultural mediation, and cultural marketing was suggested. In VINYL AND PLASTIC, which reflects retro culture, this paper conducted in-depth interviews with six cultural consumers who participated in various cultural and artistic activities several times, and investigated the development process of their artistic tastes, space, and interactions with others. Through VINYL AND PLASTIC, cultural consumers show contradictory perceptions, identify themselves and space, and return to the past through retro consumption such as LP to get rest in their minds. This paper was able to discover the contradictory position of taking a positive attitude toward VINYL AND PLASTIC while observing the intentions and strategies of the corporate, which is interpreted as a tendency to self-conform to the corporate and a desire to have a sense of belonging. In VINYL AND PLASTIC, cultural consumers show 'expansion of horizontal taste' and 'solidity of vertical taste'. As Bourdieu says, it is clear that their original taste for art and culture does not change, but at the same time, it is expressed in various ways of enjoying art and culture, such as the Peterson’s Omnivore theory. In this paper, rather than the confrontation of the tastes of cultural consumers, it is presented as a pattern in which tastes develop together. Cultural consumers of VINYL AND PLASTIC interact in a variety of spaces and with others, especially showing their desire to show off and appreciation on social media. For those who do not enjoy art and culture or have no opportunity, the social media space where cultural consumers' desire for recognition and display is may be shown as space where discrimination is reproduced. In other words, through this, the tendency to feel alienation and relative deprivation of ignorance and indifference toward art and culture could be examined. Cultural consumers still exist in VINYL AND PLASTIC, which can be viewed as a space that reproduces this discrimination. In this process, this paper looks cultural mediation in the context of facilitating and facilitating accessibility of art and culture by helping to meet the overall communication process of cultural consumers and producers and connecting their relationships. Ultimately, this paper interprets the cultural complex as a space where cultural mediation activities take place.
