반려동물에 대한 수요가 증가하면서 펫코노미 시대 열린 이면엔 키우던 동물을 내팽개치는 유기동물 증가 현상이란 그림자도 짙게 드리워 있다. 이러한 문제 의식에서 출발한 단체나 개인을 통해 유기동물 입양을 촉진하는 사이트와 애플리케이션이 등장하였다. 유기동물 애플리케이션의 개발과 보완은 유기동물 문제에 능동적으로 대처해 해결하며, 동물과 공존하는 생명 존중의 이상적 세계관을 펼친다. 반려동물이 인류에게 부여하는 즐거움은 크지만 그들의 생존 복지는 여전히 미흡한 현실이다. 본 연구를 통해 유기동물 문제를 환기하고 이를 해결하기 위해 지속적인 노력의 필요성을 제기한다.

본 연구는 유기동물 구조 애플리케이션의 사용성 향상을 목표로 한다. 기존의 유기동물 관리 시스템 및 입양 서비스를 제공하는 플랫폼 분석을 통해 유기동물 관리 과정의 한계점을 제기해 입양 서비스 보완 사항을 도출한다.

본 연구는 기존 서비스 분석 및 사용자 조사를 통해 총 5개 유기동물 애플리케이션 사용성 향상을 위한 인터랙션 디자인 방향을 제안한다. 기본 서비스와 제안 서비스를 비교하기 위해 각각의 시나리오에 따른 사용성 평가를 실시한다. 평가 결과 및 인터뷰를 통해 도출한 개선점을 바탕으로 수정 보완하여 최종 작품을 완성한다. 결론적으로 5개 제안은 (1)위치기반의 검색 시스템, (2)목격 신고 및 공유 기능, (3)유기동물 애플리케이션 탐색 페이지 및 상세 페이지의 정보 시각화, (4)자연사 및 안락사 당한 유기동물을 위한 추모 공간, (5)유기동물 입양 후 양육 과정에 대해 지속적인 주목, 추적 과정을 기록한다.

유기동물 문제는 사회 구조의 급속한 변화에 따른 생활 환경과 더불어 나타난 인위적 사회 문제다. 이를 해결하기 위해 동물 반려인에겐 적극적인 책임 의식이 요구되고, 사회 일반은 반려동물에 관한 지속적인 연구와 주목이 필요하다. 본 연구에 제시한 입양 과정 및 기존 입양 서비스에 대한 보완 제안은 향후 반려동물 전면 데이터 관리 및 유기동물 관리 제도의 연구에 활용될 수 있으리라 기대한다.

영문초록

Great demand for companion animal has resulted introduction to era of ‘pet-conomy’ which eventually also resulted in increased cases of abandonment of the pets. Insights on animal abandonment issue, Web-sites and applications have arisen by communities and individuals to encourage adoption of abandoned animals. Development and supplement of application related to abandoned animal actively tackles abandoned animal issues that unfold an ideal universe where animals are respected as a being and coexist with human race. The pleasure that companion animal provides to mankind is great but their survival welfare is yet insufficient. This research reminds and raise the need for continuous efforts to solve animal abandonment issue.

This research aims to improve usability of abandon animal rescue applications. Through analysis of existing abandon animal managing system and adoption service platform, draw supplements required for adoption service by raising limitations of abandon animal management process.

This research proposes total 5 interaction design direction to improve usability of applications by analysis of existing service and user experience. To compare existing service and proposed service, usability assessments are conducted in accordance with respective scenario. Completion of final work through amendment and supplement of improvements required which raised out of assessment result and interview. Ultimately, 5 design direction proposes (1) Location-based search system, (2) Sight report and information share function, (3) Visualization of abandon animal search and details page for information, (4) Memorial Space for natural death and euthanasia of abandoned animals, (5) Recording of consistent tracking and attentions for raising process of post adoption of abandoned animals.

The abandon animal issue is an artificial issue arising from rapid change in the social structure in accordance with the change in lifestyle. In order solve this issue, animal companions should have an active sense of responsibility, and the society needs to give more attention on continuous research for companion animals. It is expected that the adoption process and proposal on existing adoption service presented in this research can be used for future research on full-scale data management of companion animals and abandoned animal.
